Job Summary:

The job of a Quality Control Technician I is a highly focused position to ensure that the products purchased and manufactured fits the organization’s purpose, any and all legal requirements, meets specifications and customer expectations. The QC Technician I documents the product’s test results and provide suggestions required to attain the best quality product possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Federal, State, Governmental and or any other appropriate regulatory laws or guidelines
  • Assist with Food safety issues; scientific and technical developments; and industry codes of practice. Report Food Safety violations
  • Maintain, apply and review for effectiveness GMP, HACCP, Organic, FDA, Kosher, SQF procedures and codes of practice
  • Ensure standards are met in the areas of Food Safety and Product Quality
  • Assist with internal audits to verify that all GMP and SQF standards are being followed
  • Work toward continual improvement of work processes, testing methodology and process control
  • Physical analysis, sensory analysis and data entry for all green coffee purchases and/or projects
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedule and repairs for all analysis equipment
  • Perform any special assignments as required by the Quality Control Lead and Green Coffee Tea

 Follow all company procedures and policies, especially with respect to Safety, Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

Education and Experience

  • High School or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment
  • Professional communication with all vendors, suppliers and departments
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Spanish Speaking preferred
  • Licensed Q Grader preferred
  • Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.).
  • Mathematical Reasoning - The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly, correctly, and in a way that allows one to solve work-related issues.
  • Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
  • Writing – Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience 

Salary: $20.74 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday - Friday
